Alumni Wochenende

Am vergangenen Wochenende fand unser Alumni-Event 2024 in Bonn statt und wir blicken auf drei spannende und ereignisreiche Tage zurück. Angefangen mit einem fantastischen Einstieg der Deutschen Nationalmannschaft in die EM über eine abwechslungsreiche Exkursion ins Ahrtal bis zu unserem Abschlussbrunch am Sonntag haben wir eine tolle gemeinsame Zeit mit über 30 Alumnae und Alumni der Bonner VWL verbracht.
Besonderes Highlight war unsere Podiumsdiskussion zur Rolle ökonomischer Forschung in Politik und Gesellschaft im Bonner Universitätsforum. Prof. Christian Bayer, Prof. Andrea Maurer, Paul Höller und Jonathan Grunwald lieferten spannende Einblicke und verschiedene Perspektiven auf das Spannungsfeld zwischen Politik und Wissenschaft. Beim anschließenden Get-Together konnten wir die Gespräche in entspannter Atmosphäre bei Sekt und Fingerfood fortsetzen.
Vielen Dank an alle TeilnehmerInnen und insbesondere an alle HelferInnen, die dieses Wochenende ermöglicht haben. Wir sehen uns spätestens im nächsten Jahr wieder!

Our Alumni Event 2024 took place last weekend in Bonn and we can look back on three exciting and eventful days. From a fantastic start to the European Championships by the German national team to a varied excursion to the Ahr Valley and our closing brunch on Sunday, we spent a great time together with over 30 alumni of Bonn’s economics department.
A particular highlight was our panel discussion on the role of economic research in politics and society at the Bonn University Forum. Prof Christian Bayer, Prof Andrea Maurer, Paul Höller and Jonathan Grunwald provided exciting insights and different perspectives on the tension between politics and science. At the subsequent get-together, we were able to continue the discussions in a relaxed atmosphere with champagne and finger food.
Many thanks to all participants and especially to all the helpers who made this weekend possible. We’ll see you again next year at the latest!
